Ventura County health officials ordered the closure of a Thousand Oaks high school beginning Tuesday after a student was believed to have contracted swine flu.

Newbury Park High School is scheduled to close for a week, during which time all school-sponsored activities are canceled, according to a statement released by the Conejo Valley Unified School District. All school employees were asked to continue reporting to work.

No other cases have been reported in the school district. Newbury Park High is tentatively scheduled to reopen May 12.
